Return Visit By Bible School Students

On the 19th of May we were blessed with a return visit by International Students from the British Bible School in Corby.  This trip is a part of their training at Corby.  During weeks like this the students get  to experience first-hand what church work is like.  Two of the students had been to Washington before and two were new to Washington (Igor from the Ukraine, and Lawrence from Malawi had been here before).  This time we were blessed to have Manuel from the Philippines and Naeem from Pakistan.  The people of Washington learned a great deal about the church

On the 23rd of May Michele and I took Steve and Vera Marchant and Brenda Cooper on a journey to visit Cragside House in Northumberland.  This house was owned by Lord Armstrong who was an inventor and arms manufacturer.  The house was one of the first houses in the world to have electric lights.  It was here that the Royal family first saw electric lights used in a house and after a visit here had them installed in the Royal Palaces.
Lord Armstrong used his vast wealth to create a fairy tale world of flora and fauna.  The estate is covered with beautiful and exotic plants from all over the world.  One of the main features are the Rhododendrons that encircle almost every part of the estate.  These plants create the impression that one has passed into another world.  Their sheer number and beauty
