Trip Down the Lead Mine

On Saturday March the 25th nine men made the hour long journey by car to the remote countryside of Weardale to share an adventure.  Our destination was an old lead mine that had been mined for almost three hundred years.  We were going to make the journey to a large cavernous room that was 1.5 miles underground.  The adventure began in tunnels filled with water over a foot deep and ceilings that were not meant to accommodate 6 foot 2 Texans.  Worse was yet to come:  the ceiling got lower and lower and still lower.  At several

From the 3rd to the 10th of March we were blessed to have 6 students from the British Bible school to help us here.  There were 2 from the Ukraine, 1 from Holland, 1 from France, 1 from Albania and 1 from Malawi, Africa.  They are all students studying on a 2 year course at the British Bible School in Corby, England.  For this week they came to Washington to get some experience in practical ministry.  They helped with the day to day cleaning, making of leaflets, writing press releases to advertise events, and preparing classes.
They were helping with the advertising of our latest project to reach out to our local community.  Working in conjunction with Social Services and a national charity called Age Concern we are providing meals to the aged
